The Huron is the most widely recognized shape of all snowshoe models and takes its origin from the Huron First Nation of Canada. It is mostly used for hunting, trapping, bird watching, and long distance adventures in open forests and fields. It was also the preferred model used by the French settlers who established the first colony in 1604, the adventure enthusiasts and the trappers for winter hiking. A high quality varnish keeps the rawhide and the frame in good condition. Harnesses sold separately.Note: It is recommended to apply varnish once a year at the end of the season to prevent the wood frame and raw hide to absorb moisture and water. That will extend the life of your natural snowshoe. We recommend using a marine varnish designed for wooden boats.
